This profile summarises information Vachira Phuket Hospital publishes. It is not an endorsement, and Thai Fertility Path is not affiliated with the provider.
About
For women's health, Vachira Phuket's obstetrics and gynaecology examination room and antenatal clinic are on the outpatient building's 2nd floor, and the hospital added an infertility clinic there in 2023. Newborns needing intensive care are looked after in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Run by the Ministry of Public Health, Vachira Phuket is a tertiary regional hospital with 650 beds and 16 operating rooms, and holds Thai Hospital Accreditation (HA) with re-accreditation from February 2024 to 2027. Neurosurgery, cancer care, the Andaman Heart Centre and a hyperbaric unit for diving injuries are among its other services.
The website is largely in Thai, and little is published in English about maternity or fertility care. A Special Medical Clinic and a Premium Clinic offer private-style appointments for those who prefer them.
Women's Health and OB-GYN Services
Vachira Phuket opened an infertility clinic in 2023, based in the OB-GYN examination room on the outpatient building's 2nd floor, where the antenatal clinic is also based. For Phuket residents this offers a public-hospital starting point for fertility questions.
If you are pregnant, delivery and recovery take place on the 3rd- and 4th-floor obstetric wards, which have private rooms at published daily rates. A baby needing intensive care is moved to the Baan Khun Phum building's NICU, where there is also a sick-newborn ward. Because this is the province's referral hospital, specialist teams such as the Andaman Heart Centre and surgery are on site if complications arise.
English information about maternity and fertility care is limited on the website. It may suit island residents who want public maternity care with neonatal intensive care in the same hospital.
