About

Phyathai 2 is a 550-bed hospital in Phaya Thai that opened in July 1987, and women's health is one of the centres it puts forward. For anyone researching fertility, the key unit is its infertility centre on the 10th floor of Building B, which has an embryo culture laboratory and operating room of its own and offers insemination, IVF, ICSI, egg freezing and embryo chromosome screening.

The hospital states that this centre holds a Joint Commission International Clinical Care Program Certification. Pregnancy, delivery and gynaecology are handled separately, two floors up, by the Women's Health Center, so tests, treatment and later antenatal care can stay in one building.

The website can be read in Arabic, Khmer, Japanese, Chinese, English and Thai, and international patients can message the hospital on LINE at @pt2_inter or on WeChat at PT2Chinese. The fertility centre promotes English-speaking care for expatriates, including a programme for people seeking a second opinion after unsuccessful treatment.

IVF and Fertility Clinics

The fertility centre on the 10th floor of Building B opens every day and keeps its embryo culture lab and an operating room on site. If tests show a problem, its doctors can treat it laparoscopically before a cycle begins. Treatments listed are insemination, IVF and ICSI with embryos grown to blastocyst, and chromosome screening of embryos by NGS or array CGH.

Phyathai 2 says the centre has Joint Commission International Clinical Care Program Certification, and it aims part of its service at expatriates in English, including a second-chance programme for those whose IUI, IVF or ICSI elsewhere has not worked, and it can be contacted on LINE and WeChat as well as by phone.

Prices for IVF are not published. The centre may suit people living in north-central Bangkok, or anyone wanting a new assessment after earlier cycles failed.

  • JCI Clinical Care Program Certification for the centre
  • Embryo lab and operating room on site
  • Embryo screening by NGS or array CGH
  • Open seven days a week
  • Second-chance programme after failed cycles

Worth confirming: Request a written quotation covering medication and embryo testing, and check what documents Thai law needs from you.

Egg Freezing Clinics

Egg freezing at Phyathai 2 is done by the same fertility team and embryo lab that handle its IVF cycles. The centre points out that both the number and quality of eggs drop with age, particularly after 35, and suggests women in that bracket seek advice sooner.

The steps mirror the hospital's IVF pathway. You have hormone injections for roughly eight to ten days while scans and blood tests track progress. Collection is done vaginally, with you either sedated or under general anaesthetic, and takes around 20 to 30 minutes.

There is no published package, storage fee or rule on who can freeze. Women who would rather freeze within a general hospital, with English-speaking staff on hand, may find it suits them.

  • Freezing offered by the fertility centre
  • Same embryo lab as the IVF programme
  • English-speaking support for expatriates

Worth confirming: Check the package price, the yearly storage fee and the longest storage allowed, and whether women who are single can freeze.

Women's Health and OB-GYN Services

The Women's Health Center is on the 12th floor of Building B and opens daily from 07:30 to 19:30. During pregnancy it offers care for normal and high-risk cases, 2D and 4D scans, a blood test that screens for Down's syndrome, amniocentesis, checks on the baby and antenatal classes, then postpartum care and a breast milk clinic; there are more than ten delivery rooms.

For gynaecology the centre covers check-ups and pre-marriage consultations, cervical screening by Pap smear, ThinPrep, HPV DNA or colposcopy, digital mammography, bone density scans and menopause care. Fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, prolapse and ectopic pregnancy can all be treated with endoscopic surgery, and the directory lists fetomaternal, gynaecologic oncology, reproductive medicine and pelvic floor specialists.

With an infertility centre two floors below, it suits women who would like fertility treatment and any pregnancy that follows to be managed in one hospital.

  • Over ten delivery rooms
  • Care for high-risk pregnancies
  • Endoscopic gynaecological surgery
  • Fertility centre in the same building

Building B, 12th floorDaily 07:30–19:30+66 2 617 2444 ext. 4268, 4269

Worth confirming: The centre's page shows no birth packages or prices and says nothing about neonatal intensive care; ask about both before you plan to deliver here.
